Ffxiv cannot patch files ps4 - Free Download
Then I proceed the launch the program. I've done this sort of thing before. I'm familiar with the process. So I do it. Another goddamn 11 GB patch This thing is going to download a frikin' patch the size of the game download itself? Fast forward to 4 DAYS and I have not been able to play the frikin game because after about 1GB into the download of these patch files it quits and says "unable to download patch files" through the client and automatically relaunches the client and proceeds to make me log in AGAIN!!!!
I've gone through every trouble shoot. I've deleted the game and everything and re downloaded it. Has anyone encountered this issue and resolved it? That means I don't have to download anymore patches right?
Good riddance what a horrible process. I got really nervous because when I checked the download around 1am it had slowed to a crawl at. I was patient and persistent though and lft it and it sped back up to. Special thanks to AuthenticM and Okawa-San and everyone else that made suggestions. Qvoth Member Jan 4, Those unable to download files error generally mean there's some kind of problem with the internet connection Take note of the exact number for the errors and google it, it's quite a common thing afaik There's an active ffxiv thread as well on the community sub forum, probably better to just post there.
Xevren Member Jan 4, I had this issue as well, for DNS I used 4. I also had my MTU at The download was slow but it was the only solution that didn't give me errors. Finding solutions for this shit was torture, mainly because there's so many different ones that work for different people. Even googling it you can see how often it happens, it's clearly an issue but they just don't seem to care.
Hopefully it helps or you can find a solution that at least works, because once you can play it's really fun! GuitarGuruu Member Jan 4, Had this issue on PC after needing to reinstall after getting my new rig. Only solution that worked for me was using a VPN even though it is horrendously slow. It really is frustrating as really there isn't a whole lot of clear solutions that I found researching the issue.
Also I hope you are using an Ethernet cable instead of Wifi. That used to cause some problems. Bandini Member Jan 4, Can you bring your PS4 to a friend's house and try it there? That would at least let you know if it's an connection issue. Ogawa-san Member Jan 4, Switching to a "foreign" DNS worked for this guy, you could give it a shot. Yeah, it's absurd that SE has this problem and hasn't fixed it.
I had a error downloading the patch over and over and over again on PC. What in the actual fuck SE. What worked for me was to use googles dns that would then download a few of the patches then fail.
Then I would switch to another dns that would work for a few more patches and fail. I switch back to googles dns and that finished the rest of the patches. Dragonsushi Member Jan 4, Had a similar problem on PC. I had to download the trial from Steam, then copy the game files from steamapps to my program files, then run it like normal without steam. Yoshida said at Fan Fest they were going to put profits from the game back into Server upgrades and maintenance, so it won't be terrible like this forever.
Hope you get to enjoy the game! Freyjadour Member Jan 4, I just went through this with my wife's PC. I tried pretty much the gamut of solutions from the endless reddit threads on this issue, but the only one that worked for the entire download was to VPN using CyberGhost. I've never had this issue on my personal PC, but it's absolutely unacceptable. Does bluegartr host the XIV files anywhere? They used to be pretty much the only sane way to get the XI files. OrionX Member Jan 4, Decide to buy it?
It felt like the game was actively trying to prevent me from playing it. The patch was almost fully downloaded, then I started to get an error every time. All I ended up having to do was sync my PS4's clock to the Internet and restart it Now that I'm actually playing it I'm loving it though. Hedrush Member Jan 4, Shortly before Christmas they had a 4 day freeplay session. I decided to get back into the game as I'd not played for about a year and I had that FF itch.
So I download the client on to my Pro, sign in and the game begins its horrible ingame update process. Four days later it eventually finished and eager to start my free 4 days session I start the game only to find that my free 4 days were up as it started from the minute I originally signed in to the FF client. I've not bothered with the game since it really put me off. They really need to sort the update process out it really is piss poor.
Recall Member Jan 4, As in just reset the clock? I've never heard of this. Still had to try like 4 more times and then it randomly decided to work. You just have to get lucky.
It's really insane that this is still an issue honestly. I got it for PC and PS4 and had to deal with it on both. You are leaving the game on while it downloads the patches right?
You are not resting your PS4 or opening Netflix while it downloads the patches? Why would that be a solution though? Sylas Member Jan 4, Use a VPN for the file that the download gets stuck on--it's almost always the same, or within the same range.
Then close the launcher, kill your VPN and relaunch the game. It'll download the rest of the files with no issues. I have no idea why this still happens but this solution has worked for me every single time. Not sure if that's what did it, but that's literally all I did besides turning it off.
Haha, when I looked up my specific error code online that's what someone suggested. Yea I'm leaving it on the game. Someone on Redditt suggested opening up the Mog Station in the client while it downloaded too, but that hasn't worked either.
I always end up getting the black screen with the error after mbs of the patch download. Garibaldi Member Jan 4, I had the same issue when I tried the game out. The launcher is just piss poor. I found closing the app then relaunching eventually downloaded the patches. Luckily once the patch is downloaded you're good to go.. AuthenticM Member Jan 4, I had the same issue. I'm just getting exhausted thinking about it. Yea I've tried both to no avail.
Final Fantasy XIV - "Cannot Download Patch Files"
Stupid waste of money. Now heres what to do I tried pretty much the gamut of solutions from the endless reddit threads on this issue, but the only one that worked for the entire download was to VPN using CyberGhost. Oh and make sure that you get as updated as you can. Some areas in the US.

Garibaldi Member Jan 4, This thing is going to download a frikin' patch the size of the game download itself? In about years this problem might become much worse if other countries can't keep up with Japanese Networks, which are top-notch, and have amazing internet speeds. Haha, when I looked up my specific error code online that's what someone suggested. We give credit to Surfing Waves widget and Ione K. All I ended up having to do was sync my PS4's clock to the Internet and restart it This is such a frustrating problem. You may be able to skip the rest of the stuff i did and go right to the manual connection steps. Yea I'm leaving it on the game. Also I hope you are using an Ethernet cable instead of Wifi.
